Product Manager – Focus China & Intellectual Property

Swan is an international SME situated in Zurich Highlands, which develops and produces high-quality measuring instruments for the online water analysis. We employ 300 people at 15 locations worldwide and are known for our high quality in a wide range of industries such as drinking and wastewater, power generation, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, cooling water and ultrapure water as well as steam and condensate.

We are looking for

With this newly created position, we are strengthening our market presence in China and further developing the protection of our intellectual property. As Product Manager with a China focus, you will take full ownership of the product management function while ensuring that our products are successfully positioned in the Chinese market and optimally protected from an IP perspective.You act as a key interface between R&D, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and our external partners in China. By combining market insight, technical understanding, and strategic thinking, you contribute directly to our international growth and long-term competitiveness.

We offer attractive tasks

Full responsibility for product management with a focus on China
Analysis of market, customer, and competitor requirements in the Chinese market
Management of the entire product lifecycle from concept to phase-out
Coordination of internal teams and external partners in China
Support in defining and implementing IP strategies (patents, trademarks, designs)
Identification and assessment of IP risks in product development and market entry
Support of licensing processes, NDAs, and technology transfers
Assistance with product launches and partner meetings on site
Regular travel to China and communication with stakeholders in Mandarin

Why we want you

University degree in Business, Engineering, Product Management, or a comparable field
Several years of experience in product management of technical products
Fluent Mandarin (mandatory requirement)
Very good German and/or English skills
Solid understanding of intellectual property in an international context
Structured, independent working style and strong intercultural competence
Willingness to travel regularly
